Crediton Bowls Club are extremely proud of our two superstars who took part in the WBT World Championships at Potters International this month.

Ian Bond dusted off his bowls to take part in the Masters tournament and proceeded to take the title beating Billy Jackson by the narrowest of margins in a tight and exciting game 6-6, 7-6.

Robert Paxton played in the Mixed Pairs, Pairs and Open Singles. He played extremely well, making the final in both the Pairs and Singles events. With his partner, Jason Greenslade, they faced an in form Jason Banks and Michael Stepney. In a close game, their opponents were just too strong in the tie break and pipped our hero 9-10, 8-6, 0-2.

Having fought his way through the field in the Singles, Rob faced Jason Banks again in the final of the premier event broadcast live on BBC2. Unfortunately it wasn't to be and Rob finished an extremely creditable Runner-up 4-10, 8-12. His campaign will be best remembered for the dramatic and quite frankly ridiculously good final bowl in the semi final against Dave Gourlay.

Congratulations to both Ian & Rob, a credit to Crediton and our club, we are very proud!
